Andsolis, which means “opposite of the sun“ in Old Norse, is a German Progressive Melodic Death Metal band formed in 2012.
Andsolis came to life in 2012, when former Athean and Behind the Scenery guitarist Simon Abele wrote sketches of seven songs, that would later become the band’s debut album “Vigil” (2015).
He recruited several musicians from all over Germany and the Netherlands: Stefan Rosenmayer (guitars) and keyboarder Martin Pohl (Buddha Sentenza, Irie Révoltés) were the first to join the project, followed by drummer Marco Tecza (Edge of Serenity) and his Dutch colleague Bryan Zwiers (Edge of Serenity, Grim Ordeal) on bass. To realize his vision and ideas on the vocal parts, Simon invited two singers to join the line up. Manuel Siewert (December Flower) was found to handle the growls and Oliver Kilthau (Liquid Horizon) for the clean parts.
From Hammond organs to blast beats, from calm moments of beauty to fierce growls and erupting staccato twin guitars, the next milestone in the band’s joint effort will be to present this varied material to the audiences.
“Vigil” will be released the 20th of February 2015 as double vinyl 12″ gatefold, CD and digital download via Quality Steel Records / Soulfood.
